i'll try an update now...just a quick one...

i went to the GDYO concert today...those young'uns are really good!  i kinda miss orchestra but performing in the orchestra always made me really nervous, which is weird cuz i don't get nearly as nervous for a solo performance.  i really enjoyed watching them today though!

i'm going to cali in one week!!! yaay!  i hope this summer is fun.  i'm excited about a single and the sun and cali, including the work.  it'll give purpose to my currently bum-y life.  But, i've really enjoyed these past few days of sleeping till noon and still not doing anything all day and then going to bed 12 hours later.  it's pretty sweet but i think i may need a little more excitement if i want to still have a brain come august.

um...i feel weird talking about myself now..so i think i'll go to bed or something...

I'm on my lunch break now.  I think mondays are the hardest days to start working again.  After a nice weekend, usually, sitting in the office just makes me restless.  This past weekend I put on a garage sale.  It was quite successful.  I started at 7am and finished at 10:30am.  I got up at 5:30am to get ready and start putting everything out.  I made awesome signs but I had the hardest time sticking them in the ground cuz the stakes were so fat.  But, they were very eye-catching (neon orange with big black letters!) and even though my sign blew over in the end lots of people still came!  I sold everything that I wanted to sell, like an entertainment center, fish tank with 8 year old fish drowning in their own poop, two bikes with wheels that i pumped up the night before, broken torch lamp, old bottles of perfume that my family is allergic to, and lots of out-grown/out of fashion clothing.  My mom and I went to ikea on friday night and bought a rack to hang our clothes on ($5!) but it kept blowing over in the wind.  Everytime a big gust came, I'd go running to it to catch it on its way to the ground.  Anyway, it was great fun and very very tiring!

I think that's what killed me this weekend.  Both saturday and sunday I took 3 hr naps, which is just ridiculous!  Regardless, I'm looking forward to my dad coming home!  Saturday.  I would've left for cali on sat to stay with my sister in her awesome apartment but I wanted to see my dad some.  And, I get to see my brother be drum major! at their first football game of the year on friday!

Ok, well, thinking of happy things has made this lunch break better becuase at first I didn't feel like going back to work.  So, I guess now I'll be the geek that I am and start up my "computer programming" again.  I AM SUPER NEEERRRDD!!! dum da da duuummmm!! (as i jump to my other computer with my cape sailing behind me...."N".....<-- for nerd, if you got that your'e a nerd too!)

this is what i've learned recently:  when i wear my spongebob squarepants t-shirt, purple/lavender pumas, and shorts shorter than any adult would wear, i am not taken seriously at the office.  i guess this just shows that appearances really do matter!!

another thing, since i haven't practiced piano and cello all summer, i suck!!!  honestly, i never thought i'd lose my skill, but alas the time has come where my fingers are not obedient to the music in my head.  actually, it's not completely gone (i haven't tried cello yet) i can still play but it makes me sad.

i had a lot of fun when mark visited.  i'll miss him when he goes to scotland but i'm glad he's going.  and i'm glad i got to see him this summer.  he's so good at soccer!  i think that was one of the most fun parts, playing against him while he obviously was going super easy on me.

i really like chinese ice.  i had some again today.  cheap, tasty dessert.  chinese people know how to enjoy themselves!  i'm glad i'm half chinese.  i'm not glad that people can't tell i'm half chinese.  i really dislike when i go into a store and they ask me something in chinese, then take a look at me, repeat themselves in english (not very good english) and insist on using english.  (i guess it doesn't help that i only speak english back).  i think i'm asking for too much.  i guess it works the same way, as in i can't guess people's age.  so, people can't guess my race.

spongebob squarepants is the best cartoon show ever!!! (see i'm tying the end to the beginning!  haha, i just felt like making fun of my poor writing skills.)  Anyway, i think i'll go watch some now.

here's an entry to physical appearance:

first, about me: i just got a hair cut and the woman chopped off all my hair!  So, after asking a million people where they recommend getting a haircut I end up going to this one place that was not super cheap but I was willing to pay the price.  Then, this black woman cuts my hair exactly like hers.  Nothing wrong with black women cutting hair but well i don't have the same hair as she does and i'm more than 10 years younger than her.  ok, this hairstyle, ugly.  She starts cutting and then it's still a little too long for my tastes and so i tell her to cut a little more off.  then she cuts off another inch!  when you don't have long hair another inch is a huge difference!  so, i think my hair'll start to look good in maybe 3 weeks.  right now, it's not awful but it's not my favorite.  i definitley don't style it like her thank goodness.  usually, if you go to a nice place they'll look at your clothing and how you carry yourself and your general aura and cut accordingly.  not this woman, she cut like herself.  she'll just make another her.  let's just say i'm never going back there.

the other thing: tonight i just went to a beauty pageant.  yes, i went to support young girls (this was the teen ms. texas) putting on lots of makeup and being super skinny.  the best girl won.  she was really talented.  she did this ventriloquist act with two puppets and was really good.  the audience loved her.  she was blond.  looked like a barbie.  so many barbies there.  they all have toned stomachs because they don't have any fat, though i wonder how their boobs are so big.  they even had a health and fitness part of the competition where they had to wear biking shorts and a top of their choice (some sports bra) and walk around.  they all looked like they were sucking in their stomachs, which made them look even skinnier and have a toned stomach.  they pretty much just all sing or dance.  i guess those are the skills that girls that enter pageants like that would have.  one girl played the piano but she wasn't very good.  anyway, it was kinda fun.  i think it would have been more fun if the girl we were cheering for made the top ten, but whatever.  it was still fun.  yaay for cheering for beautiful people.  don't worry, i still think that we should be equal to all people no matter what they look like, but i also think there's no problem in supporting people that were lucky with good looks.  anyway, that's enough for now.  goodnight.

so my summer life consists of going to my mom's office and doing my homework or her teaching me something (i'm her new assistant!) and then going home.  the only sucky thing about going to the office is that when i want to take a break...let's just say, my break today was going to the water fountain and standing there for a few minutes while my water bottle filled up.  there's not much to do.

then, i go home.  sometimes i work out.  i work out so much more here at home than i ever did at school.  i got a free one month pass to 24-hour fitness!!!  YAAAYY!!  except now my knee hurts cuz i think i've been running too much.  i want to be like those cross country runners.  i'll have no fat on my body (besides the necessary parts...i'm assumming those will stay) and my legs'll look hot!  also, i've done something to my neck and it's really stiff now.  boo.

ok, i guess since that's all i really have to write about, my break is over.  i wish i had some music here or a poster on the wall or something.  ok, my mom'll be back soon from the dentist and i'll supposedly have done a lot of my homework. ok, i hope all of you are having wonderful days!!! Yaay for summer!!!
